Dentistry that keepsto a slower line.
Longer appointments, plain explanations and a treatment plan you leave with in writing. We look after adults, children and anyone who has spent a few years avoiding the chair.
We would rather explain it twice than rush you once.
Sage Line was set up around a simple idea: most people do not dislike the dentist, they dislike not knowing what is about to happen. So we slow the appointment down, show you what we can see, and give you the options in order of cost and urgency — including the option to do nothing yet.
-
01
You see your own images on the screen beside you, and we talk through them before any instrument comes near you.
-
02
Every plan is written down with what it treats, how long it takes and what happens if you wait. You take it home before deciding.
-
03
One clinician follows you through a course of treatment, so you are not re-explaining your history at every visit.
-
04
A raised hand stops the appointment, at any point, without a conversation about it.
What we do, and how long to allow.
Timings are the length of the appointment itself, so you can plan the rest of your day around it. Visit counts assume straightforward healing.

01
Examination & check-up
A full look at teeth, gums, bite and soft tissues, with images where they help. You leave with a written summary and a recall interval that suits your mouth, not a default six months.

02
Hygiene & gum health
Scaling, polishing and a proper technique session at the sink — most gum problems are solved at home, and we would rather teach that than keep treating it.

03
Fillings & repairs
Tooth-coloured fillings, chipped edges rebuilt and old restorations replaced when they start to leak. Numbing is warmed and given slowly; you tell us when you are ready.

Crowns, inlays & bridges
For teeth that have lost too much structure to hold a filling. We scan rather than take impression putty, and fit a temporary you can eat on between visits.

Whitening, supervised
Custom trays made from your own scan and gel used at home over two weeks, with a review in between. We check first that the shade you dislike is not a filling or a dead tooth.

Replacing a missing tooth
A consultation that compares a bridge, a denture and an implant for your particular gap, with the honest downsides of each. No pressure toward the most involved option.
Consultation 45 minWritten comparisonStaged plan
Four steps, about forty-five minutes.
Nothing is treated on a first appointment unless you are in pain and ask us to.
-
Step one
A conversation, sitting up
Medical history, what has been bothering you, and what you would like to avoid. The chair stays upright for this part.
-
Step two
The examination
Teeth, gums, bite and soft tissues, with images only where they change a decision.
-
Step three
What we found
We go through the screen together, in order of what matters, and separate urgent from watchable.
-
Step four
The written plan
Options, sequence and timings printed for you. Book on the way out, or take a week to think.
If you are nervous, say so when you book.
It changes how we run the appointment, and it is the most useful thing you can tell us.
- A first visit with no treatmentCome in, meet the clinician, sit in the chair and leave. Some people need two of these before an examination, which is fine.
- Quiet appointmentsEarly slots before the practice fills up, with the door closed and the corridor noise kept down.
- Stop signal agreed firstWe settle on the signal before we start, and we stop on it straight away — not at a convenient moment.
- Numbing done slowlyTopical gel first, then warmed anaesthetic given over a minute rather than a few seconds.
- Narration you controlTell us whether you want every step described or nothing said at all. Both are normal requests.
How the week is arranged.
Knowing which slots exist makes it easier to ask for the right one.
- Monday to ThursdayFull clinic, all three surgeries
- FridayHygiene and reviews only
- First appointment of the dayHeld for nervous and first-time patients
- MiddayLonger restorative work, when the practice is quietest

Asked often, answered properly.
I have not been to a dentist in years. Will I get a lecture?
How do I move my records from another practice?
At what age should a child first be seen?
Can I be seen while pregnant?
What happens if I need to cancel or move an appointment?
What should I bring to a first appointment?
Request an appointment.
Send this and we will reply with two or three times that fit what you have asked for. Nothing is confirmed until you agree a slot.
- Replies go out the same working day where possible.
- In pain right now? Say so in the notes and we will look at today's triage list first.
- New patients: allow 45 minutes for the first visit.
